Our curriculum in the lower years (Years 7, 8 and 9) is the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP), after which students then study their choice of subjects at (I)GCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) or International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IB CP) in our Sixth Form. Our students annually achieve results well above UK and global averages, and are highly successful in their applications to leading universities in the UK, USA, Canada and Asia. Students at BSJ are exceptionally active in exploring and developing their individual passions and talents. Design is a popular faculty that is taught in dedicated workshops based on two floors. The faculty comprises of four full-time specialist teachers who deliver the Design curriculum at IB MYP, GCSE Design Technology (CIE) and GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition (AQA) in Years 10 and 11, and Design Technology at IB DP.

 

The position being advertised is for a teacher of Food Technology who will teach this module within a carousel in IB MYP stage and will have sole responsibility for the GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition classes in Years 10 and 11. We have a specialist food technology area, with experienced technician support, that includes: an interactive whiteboard, a dedicated demonstration facility, nine fully equipped workstations, and an adjoining teaching area.
